Seafarer Recruitment Requirements

Application, interview, documentation and pre-joining training requirements for maritime professionals.

To apply for a position, candidates are required to attend an interview, including a meeting with the Company Manager, followed by a professional interview with the Port Captain for deck officers or the Superintendent for engineers at the company’s Training Centre.


Each new applicant must provide a copy of their official sea service record issued by the Bulgarian Maritime Administration, references from previous employers, and valid documentation, including passports and certificates required under the relevant maritime conventions.

Following a successful interview and English language assessment, candidates receive an Application Form and a list of the required supporting documents. Once the application is complete, the candidate may be submitted for consideration and approval by the shipowner or ship manager.

All newly recruited maritime professionals undergo training and familiarization at the company’s Training Centre before joining a vessel. The programme covers:

• Familiarization with the company’s Safety Management System (SMS).

• Specific requirements of the relevant charterer.

• COLREG assessment.

• Review and practical guidance on the essential functions of electronic chart systems and navigational equipment, with particular emphasis on independently determining and plotting the vessel’s position (Manual Fix).

• Familiarization with vessel-specific machinery, equipment and systems, including their correct operation and maintenance.

The purpose of this process is to ensure that every seafarer joining a vessel is properly prepared, familiar with company procedures, and ready to perform their duties safely and professionally.
